"The past greets the present in the work of L'Ensemble Portique, formed by Lisette Kielson to share her passions for Baroque and contemporary chamber music. The group is aptly named after Portique, a sculpture created by Kielson's grandmother, renowned artist Madeleine Stanley-Jossem. It depicts the independence and interdependence of the two musical worlds the ensemble explores. Assuming various configurations, members use period instruments and inject performances with colorful and informative anecdotes."
