"I was born and educated in France; I am a sculptor and a painter. To me, art is a way of life and that is acceptance of the ugly and the beautiful. The terror of the ugly dissipates when the eye of compassion faces it - and in that moment of pause, when the scale stands still, a spark emerges - the idea, the image.

For me, paintings, sculptures are eloquent voices who speak for me. If I could sing, the song would tell the story. The brush, the anvil and the hammer are speaking for me. The flame sanctifies what the metal would tell, in my name and through my silent voice.

Sumi-e is one facet of my artwork. There is an experience in doing these brush strokes which reaches another level of awareness, a deeper layer of the self which appears to communicate with a central consciousness. Thus, a simple blade of grass, the wind, a mountain or a waterfall reflects its archetype. The lesser ego and self-assertion are left behind as hindrances. The brush is free to express its way. It has in my better moments traced a magic path to another reality.

I am sharing some of these works with you, with the hope that you come with me for a moment on this journey."
