Lisette Kielson, Artistic Director

Recorder ~ Flute ~ Instruction ~ Performance

When asked her favorite: recorder or flute? teaching or performing? Lisette Kielson replies--all of the above! She adores the recorder and the flute equally. She approaches both teaching and performing with great passion.

Lisette explores this duality further with L'Ensemble Portique--a marriage of recorder and flute; of baroque and contemporary music; of education and performance--and is deeply committed to sharing her love of music with students and audiences alike.

Lisette’s musical life encompasses the following:

  • Collegium Musicum
    • Bradley University
    • Heartland Community College

Lisette Introduces Marie-Eve S. Kielson

As L'Ensemble Portique was inspired by Lisette's maternal grandmother, Madeleine Stanley-Jossem, Lisette welcomes her mother, Marie-Eve S. Kielson (another source of inspiration!) to the website. Marie-Eve has written Messengers: The Courage to Rebel - The Power to Inspire (her second book). It pays tribute to her mother--artist, sculptor, grandmother, guide, and extraordinary teacher.

Messengers introduces the reader to the concept that we are often required to rebel, be courageous, and be willing to learn the lessons that will guide us on a powerful journey where inspiration, dreams, and aspirations become the gift of the legacy offered to future generations. The reader will discover opportunities to connect to fifteen universal themes (e.g. Timelessness, Inspiration, Reconciliation, Passion, Innocence, Impermanence, and more), woven into "letters to a friend" and accompanied by the visuals of major works of art chosen from the artist's atelier. (M.E. Kielson)

Three generations of women have come together on this site. Each with her own voice as artist/sculptor, writer, and musician, honors the spirit of creativity and inspiration.
